History

The Faculty of Environmental Sciences is among the newly established Faculties in the University. It was actually established in the 2013/2014 academic session and comprises of five (5) departments in the built environment, namely, Architecture, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geo-informatics and Urban and Regional Planning. Thus, the Department of Architecture is one of the five (5) departments that make up the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of University of Ilorin. The department took off in 2013/2014 academic session, with a total number of 29 students. The pioneer Coordinator was Mr Z.I. Adedo , and other past Coordinators Dr. T. A. Giwa, Arc. S.Y. Sulaiman, Arc. U. T. O. Moyo, Arc. E. O. Aina and Dr. S. B. Oladimeji why the seating Coordinator is Dr. Aishat T. Abubakar-Kamar The 2017/2018 academic session has also marked the commencement of postgraduate programmes in the department.  Master’s degree (M.Sc.)  in Architecture and the department had already produced four set of M. Sc graduates
